Take note McGeady and McCarthy?
Given your obvious disgust of Scottish born players declaring for another country, I thought something like this would disgust you equally Bri? A non Scottish-born player declaring for us?
Surely not guilty of double standards Bri?

100% agree with that Stevie
Players of his calibre don't really "choose" not to play for England. Same with our very own Sone Aluko turning his back on England and choosing Nigeria.
Still, as you said, if he can get back to form, I'd be happy enough with him in the Scotland squad - we're not exactly overflowing with talent at the moment.
Not sure he's first team material yet though.

I don't have an issue with players like Driver being picked for Scotland, yes he was born English but pretty much brought up and schooled in Scotland (same as Steven Fletcher), I'm sure he would have chosen Scotland in the past if the rules had been different.
My issue is picking people who have no feelings for Scotland, players like Sullivan, Elliott, and Mr Cockney"you're no English anymore"
Scot's for Scotland and all that.

Not at all Rymundo. In my opinion he has shown at least a wee bit of hunger to represent his country. English born but still keen to play for scotland. whereas mcgeady and mcarthy were born and bread here but did not want to entertain that fact and obviously felt they have a better chance of playing in bigger tournaments. I would say thats a wee bit greedy on there behalf seeing as they learnt evrything they know in this country.
and stevie, did you not actually earn an england cap in 76 agains the czechs?

It wasn't so much to do with the fact that McGeady felt that he had a better chance of playing at a higher level with Ireland than Scotland but rather a flawed Scottish system, which unless it is looked at and revised, may lead to future players being lost to other countries.
McGeady couldn't play for the Scottish schoolboys side since they have a rule that you can't play for the Scottish schoolboys unless you actually play for your school team, which McGeady didn't as he was already playing at Celtic. Ireland didn't have such a rule and Packie Bonner who was involved in the Irish setup tapped him up for Ireland and he went onto play for them.
Berti Vogts tried to talk him into playing for Scotland at senior level, but given that he'd already been through the Irish setup he declined.
I'm not sure if the same applies to McCarthy.

No, no Brian. I have 3 caps for Nigeria - I was eligible to play for them due to my Grandparents being from Albania.

he was of an alright standard. he went on to hold is own for fc thun in the champions league, mind watching him play against arsenal a few years back.

He could certainly cross a ball, and had some quality performances under Mowbray - was a stone cold radge, mind you. Think he suffered from being signed at the same time as De La Cruz.
