to be fair i think the forum has seen better days and should close down anyway its not really contributing to the edinburgh club scene in anyway not like it used to anyway i may sound like a broken record but its never going to rival facebook/bebo/myspace ...its far to expensive to keep it going for 10 maybe 15 at a push regular posters when the mentioned sites are free and easier to advertise to the masses.

What do facebook/bebo/myspace do in place of this forum? I don't really see much cross over. Asides from for promoting purposes.

if you are running club nights, gigs, advertise bars, even restuarants then facebook/myspace/bebo are the way forward pretty much every one i know has either 1 or more active accounts that they use on the mentioned sites...it also has the comments section and the attending/not attending tabs are great wee extra.

i dont really get your point TBH!? my point is eccf has died a death! FACT!....if you want to chat about music there is more established and busier forums out there you should know i saw a craking thread on the slam firum that included you in it laugh.gif bye19iv.gif

i just dont see what more ECCF can give when it has billion dollar sites that are untouchable!

this site has been a massive part of my life for about 5 years now i got to know so many nice people and kept in touch with what is going on in edinburgh and also had a stint working for eccf...but again lets face facts when we all first came on here this was the busiest edinburgh clubbing site and was teaming with chat why? cos no one had a facebook account and only a handfull of peeps had a myspace page now that has changed and the smaller forums get left behind.

i dont need to come on here to find out what is gonig on in edinburgh, my facebook inbox is rammed with events in edinburgh i can scroll through my friends accounts and see what they are getting up to...i become fans of DJ's I like, nights that i have been to out of edinburgh, paticular genre's of music....the list goes on and on and on.

cant anyone else see that the time has come to shut this place down before we are left with 3 people coming on cos its heading that direction its a complete waste of money in my honest opinion and i would hate to see this place become diserted....call it a day!

out of intreset what do you think this site has to offer now cos clearly you still think it is worth carrying on.

EDIT....the comments you quoted also reffered to the cost of the forum to keep which i feel is pointless for the ammount of peeps that actually use this place
I told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail.

As I said, 'aside from for promoting purposes'. wink.gif

Where is the banter/chat on Facebook groups/Myspace? All I see there is promotion promotion promotion, spam spam spam. How does the ECCF facebook group for example improve on this forum format?

And it's not all about talking about music is it? I very rarely talk about music on message boards. It's good having a local message board with Edinburgh folk who are generally on the same kind of wavelength. I don't see how the Facebook group is going to replace the forum. There's plenty room for both as they serve largely different purposes IMO. In fact, as I say, Facebook (and Myspace even more) is just a spam fest so I avoid it and stick to generally spamless (if admin'd properly) forums which I find far more interesting.

Well there's a fundamental difference in the way you and me use Facebook/forums. I use forums to speak to and hear what folk I don't know have to say, not folks I do know!

Well their full name is actually FC Internazionale Milano.
Inter Milan is just a shortened version of this.

i'll be digging a hole just here then and climbing in.

i'd always been led to believe that they were not allowed to use the milan in their name due to ac already having it.

i stand corrected and apologise.
